From the readership figures, a lot of you can’t get enough of lifetime-disbarred Florida attorney, Jack Thompson. So, here’s an update.
Thompson doesn’t like the suggestions (“threats”) that the Utah Senate President and State Attorney General are investigating the possibilities of prosecuting Thompson as a spammer, and in a measured response has threatened to have the entire Utah Legislature added to a criminal complaint that he has filed with the FBI.
The FBI complaint itself targets the Utah Senate President for infringing Thompson’s right to petition the government.
If I get one more threat of criminal prosecution for sending you all proof, as I have, that pornographic video games are being sold to children in Utah because of the willful refusal of your Attorney General to enforce your state’s pornography laws, then I will add ALL of you to the sworn criminal complaint now in the hands of the FBI in Salt Lake City. You will be identified as co-conspirators to violate 18 USC 241 and 242…
Title 18 USC 241 is “Conspiracy against rights” and 242 is “Deprivation of rights under color of law” — ‘Color of law’ basically boils down to “apparently, but not actually lawful”, or “above and beyond the limits of legal authority” (lack of due-process, impersonating a police officer, search without a warrant or sufficient cause and so on).
I’m not going to put up with it. I’ve taken down some of the largest pornographers in the world. Taking down your legislature will be a piece of cake by comparison.
I’m not sure what pornographers Thompson is referring to, but I sure am looking forward to that cake.

Commenters are to be civil, courteous and respectful to others, insofar as it is possible to do so. Beyond that, you're not required to agree with the opinions expressed by me or by others.
Think for yourselves! First time commenters will wind-up in the moderation queue and your comment won't appear right away. Ditto for anything that gets flagged by the anti-spam rules.
Need I say it?
I can personally vouch for the pictured cake. It was quite genuine, even if it didn’t last very long
The cake, it is not a lie!
Guess there’s no use crying over Jack Thompson’s every mistake, he’ll just keep on trying till he runs out of cake…
Thompson may be nuts, but he’s right here. For an elected official to threaten to use anti-spam laws to prevent a private citizen from exercising his constitutional right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, is abusive and does need to be stepped on.
Thompson is–of course–going about protecting his first amendment rights in the nuttiest way possible.
Seems to me that threats aren’t ever appropriate. Do it or don’t do it, but don’t rattle the sabers.
