Play it now! If the Meridian4 games pack doesn’t turn you on (and face it, it might not), Steam’s got the 2K Huge Games Pack.

That’s Sid Meier’s Civilization® IV, Sid Meier’s Civilization® III Complete, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, Shattered Union, Prey, CivCity: Rome, Civilization IV®: Warlords, Sid Meier’s Railroads!, Railroad Tycoon 3, Railroad Tycoon II Platinum, X-COM: Terror From the Deep, X-COM: Apocalypse, BioShock™, X-COM: Interceptor, X-COM: UFO Defense, X-COM: Enforcer, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, Freedom Force, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich, and Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Colonization.

For US$53.99 while it’s on special, or US$60 after that.

That is a whole lot of gaming for the dollars – but only available in some regions. Not sure quite where (because they rather lamely forget to say), but the smart guess is North America only, unfortunately. That feels full of fail, but it may be that there’s pre-existing publishing deals.

While the game selection is suitably epic for that price, I’ll have to score this one as a fail, for only limited availability and for failing to mention where.

Steam’s also having a 50% off weekend sale of Fallout 3, but due to more expensive discriminatory overseas pricing, 50% off still means that it’s slightly more expensive than buying it from the shelf at the store this weekend.

Valve, honey? You’ve got to talk sense to some of those publishers.

Good find there, but it does seem available in the UK (which I guess means the rest of Europe too). Even though I’ve some of those games there is still enough there to make it enticing. I really should check Steam more often.

Interestingly the 50% discount to Fallout 3 makes it now a smidgen cheaper than my usual (pretty cheap) shopping haunts on the net.

It’s definitely not available in Australia, alas.
