The older a password gets, the more chance there is that it is compromised.

Passwords can be brute-forced, keylogged, exposed through exploits, phished and occasionally accidentally entered on the wrong Web-site, or tapped into an IM Window. Passwords have many predators in the wild.

Keeping the same password for an account for ages is almost as bad as using one password for more than one site. You should not do it. As time goes by, the odds of that password having been compromised (perhaps without your knowledge) slowly increase.

Maybe it is about time that you changed your Second Life password. Maybe today is that day.
