Sage advice

George Washington George Washington, first President of the United States of America, once said, “Neither politics nor religion are fit topics for the table, nor for casual blogging.”

We met, that day, in a cafe while he was travelling back in time to either lead the Union as its Commander-in-Chief, or to play at being Johann Adam Weishaupt (as the old wag was more than a little fond of yanking the tails of conspiracy theorists).

After coffee, while we settled our bills, he looked askance at me and added, “I cannot tell a lie. You’re totally making this whole thing up.”

An astounding man, he had been right on both counts. That I ignore his sage advice from time-to-time is just how things work out.
