A quieter month for me – I spent much of it being ill, and I apologise to those of you that were needlessly concerned. It wasn’t serious, but it was persistent and intrusive. All in all it has been a complicated month.

August was kind of a mixed month. Rolling health problems and other things rather limited the time I was able to spend on the blog, unfortunately. That said, it was the fifth best month on record for readership.

Well, what can I say about July?

I can say that it was the second-best month on record, and a large chunk of the responsibility for that has to go to Google.

Stream of consciousness

So, I got a letter from the Australian Tax Office that my 2008/2009 tax-return needed to be resubmitted. The problem that I’m having is figuring out exactly where on the form to put an income figure.

No, not Second Life profits – that part’s easy. The problem is writing.

February’s an awkward sort of a month. Just a little bit shorter than the other months of the year, and it seems to throw everything for a bit of a loop – especially cycles of bills, you’ve probably noticed. Nevertheless, amid all sorts of other scrambling, it hasn’t been a bad month.

Well, it was a near thing this month, but the blog did even better for January than it did in December, edging December out of its position as the second-best month to-date, and almost topping October as the best month so far.

Well, it’s been another record month for the blog, in terms of both readers and page-views, despite illness and infirmity getting in the way there for a while.

Wading through the spam

Sifting through spam comments is a right pest. For every legit comment submitted, there’s 200 or more that are basically nothing more than spam.

Most of that is taken care of automatically, and it wouldn’t really be much of a problem if it were not for the fact that occasionally a legit comment gets incorrectly flagged as spam and stored with the rest of the junk.
