As you may recall, I’ve got scripts that have been gathering data all unattended now for a couple of years – data that doesn’t already appear in the existing Second Life statistical charts. Well, I’m starting to process some of that data now, and make charts out of it, pending additional analysis.

I’ve added a new graph to the bottom of the Second Life statistics page. It’s median user-concurrency for Second Life charted over the last 365 days.

Median Second Life user concurrencyThe tall spike in the middle looks like a bit of an anomaly. I’ll investigate that in the data. Would a longer period be useful? Are there variant graphs that people are interested in seeing?

doit-login-concurrency27-may-2009 The live statistical data feeds for Second Life came back up on Tuesday at Noon, and appear to be feeding normally, though the concurrency data is still operating in its recent “two updates at the top of the hour and nothing for the rest” mode. That’s obfuscating the peaks a little, unfortunately.

Given that it was Memorial Day weekend in the USA, the data that’s been missed can hardly be considered to be representative.

Charts are updating again, per usual.

Additional update
Concurrency data froze about an hour after this was posted. Two hours after that, concurrency data resumed, now in the normal resolution (every five minutes – with only the usual minor missing samples). Someone over at the Lab is paying attention. Thanks to whoever it is :)

All Second Life statistical feeds quit working on Friday afternoon just prior to close-of-business for the day, US Pacific time. The charts are not updating properly as a result. Problem has been reported.
