“It’s critical, Rosedale says, to vastly shorten release-cycles and incorporate community-feedback”

So, viewer 2.2 is out now. How are those vastly shorter release-cycles working out?

The new, “vastly shorter release cycle” for 2.1 to 2.2 is… 90 days, on the nose. I’m not counting point-releases (which are usually emergency fixes) or betas, just major/minor releases.

So, one minor release: 90 days. That’s four minor releases per year, which was the schedule set for 2009/2010, before Philip promised shorter cycles.

Vastly shorter? I don’t think so.
