Fredrik Linden, a director of software engineering at Linden Lab on the social team who has been with the Lab for a year-and-a-half, today announced his imminent departure. Program manager, Nya Linden will be taking over from Fredrik at the Social user-group meetings from next week.
“I’m off to new adventures,” he said.

I’ll bet he’s going to take Randi Zuckerberg’s job, since she quit Facebook. I wonder if he’s qualified to be Mark Zuckerberg’s sister though?
Yes, I’m joking.
Great. One less in the “we-know-what´s-best-for-you-idiot-customer-bunch-cause-what´s-best-for-us-is-best-for-you-knownothings” row of Linden Lab employees. Web profiles, what a waste of time and investment. Wish they would fire everyone responsible for the ongoing V2 annoyance and upcoming 3D object import disaster ASAP.
You don’t actually think that he had any role in the decision to implement Web-profiles, do you? Especially since they were initially conceived five years before he started with the Lab. Those decisions come from above the teams – indeed the teams themselves are formed (and sometimes hired) to implement changes and features according to management direction.
Maybe I should stop using the Internet Explorer, but anyway…in absence of responsible Linden Lab employees: Hang the messenger!
/me frowns viciously
I have to say, I never heard of the guy, don’t know what he did, and don’t have any reason for an opinion on him.
LL, just be a provider of services, let the rest for the users, to the viewers as all rest, step out!
Smart move Fredrick. Got fed up with it I’m guessing. Surprised you stuck it out for a year and a half. Best wishes in your new adventures.
